Hello Uhtendees! Last week was quite an incredible one for us as we managed to host two events over the weekend!

We added our fourth paying subscriber and we are on track to adding many of our systems in place which will allow us to serve you better!

Let’s take a look at what happened last week!

Here’s a small review for Uhtend’s activity from last week.

Pickleball Meetup in Andheri West!

We hosted our first ever pickleball meetup in Andheri West

Two courts were booked for an hour so that we could play doubles. We had one no-show so I was playing against two players for the most of it.

Pickleball looks super easy and lazy for the outsider looking in but it can get taxing when you come up against intermediates and professionals.

Here we had beginners and players new to the sport so it was much more fun!

Beyblade X Tournament in Mumbai

We hosted yet another Beyblade Tournament in Mumbai at Exogos Gamezone in Vikhroli!

Our Beyblade X Tournament started off with 18 participants in a double elimination format.

After some gruelling bey-battles, we were down to Vedant vs Kiaan in the finals where the latter won!

Kiaan won the tournament prize, Knight Shield 3-80 N.

Omkar won the Uhtend Raffle as a Uhtend Pass holder taking home Knight Mail 3-85 BS.

This week’s events at Uhtend!

We are attempting to host 2-3 events this week, hopefully we have enough sign ups for it!

Pickleball Meetup

We are hosting a mid-week pickleball meetup late at night.

Power Walk Session

We are hosting a power walk session at Versova Beach on Saturday evening.

Note: we might even host a football meetup sometime in the week. This will be updated here as well as on our calendar.

What’s Cooking at Uhtend

Change is the only constant. As a bootstrapped startup with a team of two we test new things over and over.

Here are our updates!

One Month Free Trial at Uhtend

Every Uhtend Pass now comes with a one month free trial by default and you are charged at the end of the one month duration.

The one month trial makes you eligible for our vouchers, raffles, giveaways, etc as long as you are subscribed.

This lets you experience Uhtend for a month and see if we are a right fit.

PS — subscribed members need not do anything else.

Uhtend Lite

Since we have only four paying subscribers at the time of writing, it means we have two things to consider:

1. We have reached 1% of our goal, more on that later.

2. There will be events that will have empty slots.

To ensure all events take place smoothly and at their desired capacity, we have introduced Uhtend Lite.

What does Uhtend Lite do?

1. Uhtend Lite allows you to simply sign up for updates on this newsletter.

2. You can then sign up for events where Uhtendees aka Uhtend Pass Holders have not shown interest.

3. Uhtend Lite does not give you the perks as Uhtend Pass holders.

This allows us to host events efficiently. As we add more paying subscribers, the utility of Uhtend Lite will decrease.

We were featured on Mid-Day’s dossier

Anthony was featured on Mid-Day’s Monday dossier. First bit of PR, eh?

Here’s the snippet:

Uhtend’s referral system

This is relatively new: our referral system allows you to apply to become an affiliate.

Once in, you can ask people to subscribe to our Uhtend Pass using your custom link.

We will be rewarding the account with the highest referrals each week; more details on that in next week’s newsletter.

Our 1% milestone

Before we launched Uhtend we looked at other startups who did a “subscription for events.“

We came across two who did the same back in 2015:

1. GiggedIn

2. ShowMango

From what we could learn, GiggedIn’s founder sold to another venture.

ShowMango got to 10K MRR but had to shut down. Since their subscription was at GBP 25 per month, we can conclude that they had a maximum of 400 total subscribers.

Given that we have reached 4 subscribers, we are 1% of the way there.
